Attributing his successes to the grace of God, his strong relationship with his family and community, and focus on his objectives, Clyde W. “Chip” Hinds has excelled since 1997 as the district superintendent for the Southwest District of the Church of God (Seventh Day). This “Christ-centered, grace-oriented, Sabbath-celebrating” organization encompasses 100 churches spanning the states of Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas, providing services, teachings, and opportunities for all who seek them. With strong leadership skills and dedication, he serves as one of eight district supervisors across the United States and Canada to form the executive committee of the General Conference of the Church of God. He works diligently to coordinate the district’s ministries and initiatives; facilitate changes in pastorates and local congregations; operate demographic ministries; provide media sources for local churches; secure homes through the Hope Ministry for families in need; and facilitate the directors in their roles so they are able to function and obtain the goals and objectives for success in their ministries.
Joining the organization in 1985, Mr. Hinds, whose motto is “Focus on Jesus and follow His plan,” was active as the area director of the Church of God (Seventh Day) District Board for nine years before becoming the ministerial representative from 1994 to 1997. As a testament to his accomplishments at the church, he was recognized with a Pastor of the Year Award in 2010 and has been featured in Bible Advocate Magazine. Outside of his primary endeavors, he has continued to prevail as a Good Samaritan as the founder of a successful food pantry that has been in operation 1990 and has been featured across numerous newspapers over the years. He also served for more than a decade as a board member for Woodall Elementary School, and has been long affiliated with the National School Boards Association. In addition, he has worked as a sales manager for a bottling company.
Prior to launching his career, Mr. Hinds pursued higher education at Northeastern State University, where he attained a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, with a minor in physics, in 1974. Looking toward the future, his goal is to facilitate the team of leaders with whom he is working to achieve greater success than he has already reached.
